Materials You'll Need

1️⃣ BEADING HOOPS or FRAME

You can use a pair of blank hoops or a round beading frame (a.k.a. connector/link). If you use a frame, you will need to use an ear wire and may also need a jump ring.

2️⃣ BEADS

I used Miyuki size 11/0 seed beads. For color inspiration, check out my designer color palettes and bead mix recipes.

3️⃣ BEADING THREAD

Either nylon thread or thermally bonded thread (WildFire or FireLine) works with this technique. In the example, I used Miyuki beading thread.

4️⃣ BEADING NEEDLE

5️⃣ TECHNIQUE

The beads are secured to the hoop with half hitch knots, also used in macrame. Some may also call it blanket stitch with beads. I shared a short video showing the technique on Instagram here.
