Fine Silver + 24K Gold Plated Thread Guards - Pack of 100

These thread guards are often used to attach an ear wire to beaded earrings instead of creating a bead loop. They can also be used with beading wire and crimp beads to finish necklaces and bracelets, which is why they are originally called wire guards or cable thimbles.

These silver and gold-plated thread guards are a great high-quality alternative to more expensive sterling silver and gold-filled options. 

The silver is bright and shiny and plated with 99.9% fine silver, which is less resistant to tarnishing than sterling silver. The gold is plated with 24K gold, which has a rich, warm golden glow (more saturated than 14K). Both have a layer of white bronze between the precious metal and base metal (brass) to further improve stability. Nickel and lead-free.
